"The Heart of Zion" showcases a stunning view of Zion National Park in Utah. I captured this image in the December of 2019, on a sunny winter afternoon. When I discovered this viewpoint, I was immediately pulled in by the gravity of the scene. The calm flow of the Virgin river, as it meandered through this peaceful valley pulled me in. I found the sheer depth of the scene captivating. The serene valley and peaceful river seemed to provide a perfect counterpoint to the formidable, towering formations of jagged red rock that extended as far as the eye could see.

Zion will always have a special place in my heart. Every time I return I am left in awe by its natural beauty and other-wordly landscapes. "The Heart of Zion" captures a bit of that magic - not simply a pretty picture - but the sensation of finding a new place and feeling that its been waiting for you all along.
