"The Pure Land Paradise" captures The Golden Temple (also known as Kinkaku-ji or Rokuon-ji) in all its splendor. The Golden Temple is located in Kyoto, Japan and was built back in 1397. These days it serves as a Zen temple. The temple is renowned for its stunning reflective exterior and picturesque surroundings. Kinkaku-ji symbolizes the Pure Land Paradise of the Buddha. This ethereal realm is characterized by perfect conditions for attaining enlightenment.

I took this photo in July 2018. It was a sorching, humid summer day in Kyoto, but the temple glowed magnificantly beneath the afternoon sun. There is something other-worldy about this gaudy, glowing structure, proudly towering above its serene surroundings. "The Pure Land Paradise" captures this vision and transports you to another dimension.
