Venus in Flares is a series of vivid, dream-soaked portraits where light and shadow intertwine to exalt the feminine. Painted in real time with fiber optics and other light-sculpting tools, each image pulses with unapologetic psychedelic energy.
Each muse in this series radiates a distinct energy that is both magnetic and transcendent. Their presence merges with the flowing light to create an image that feels both intimate and otherworldly, capturing a moment suspended between reality and dream.
Specifications
8 x 12″ archival giclée print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic 340gsm, a 100% cotton fine art paper with a distinctive silvery metallic shimmer. The finish brings out extraordinary depth in highlights, reflections, and contrast while remaining acid-free and archival for museum-grade longevity. I hand-edit every image specifically for this medium to make sure the final piece looks exactly the way I envisioned it.

The Medium
I chose Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic for this edition because no other paper captures light the way this one does. It’s a 100% cotton fine art paper with a subtle silvery luminescence woven into its surface. When the image hits it, highlights shimmer, shadows deepen, and the photograph takes on a presence that feels almost three-dimensional.
It’s printed as an archival giclée using pigment-based inks rated to last well over a century under proper display conditions. Every detail in this piece was edited by hand specifically for this medium.

I’m Shane Suazo, a traveler, adventurer, and fine art photographer living in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I am always searching for scenes that captivate me - usually remote landscapes in far away places. My work often straddles the line between reality and imagination, resulting in images that feel familiar yet otherworldly.
